Hi Friends, First I would to say sorry but I am not very familiar to magento so after a 1 week spend I will implement the magneto cron functionality on yii I hope it's may be some helpful.

The basic idea is to create a complete mail message and store it a Db table along with all info necessary for sending valid emails (to_email, from_email, from_name, subject etc.)

I've gotten Yii running cron jobs, and wanted to explain briefly how I did it.

These newsletters have always been hard to create as regular web HTML is not properly read by web email interfaces and email clients. I thought that the simplest solution would be to use a web page that would serve as a web version of the newsletter and turn it somehow into newsletter HTML.

There are two ways to run a cron job:
