We are very pleased to announce the release of Symfony mailer extension version 2.0.0.

Since Swiftmailer is not supported anymore, we encourage everyone to switch to new mailer adapter:

1. Install yiisoft/yii2-symfonymailer.
2. Adjust configuration.
3. Remove yiisoft/yii2-swiftmailer.

Symfony Mailer adapter for yiisoft/mailer was tagged stable.

It is relying on symfony/mailer to send emails and is recommended as replacement for now deprecated SwiftMailer.

As usual, it has 100% unit test coverage with 100% mutation score, and 100% type coverage checked with Psalm.

Mailer package version 3.0.0 was tagged. This version expands Yiisoft\Mailer\MessageInterface adding the following methods:

• getDate() - Returns the date when the message was sent, or null if it was not set.
• withDate() - Returns a new instance with the specified date when the message was sent.
• getPriority() - Returns the priority of this message.
• withPriority() - Returns a new instance with the specified priority of this message.

First releases of mailer package and its SwiftMailer adapter were released.

The mailer package provides the content composition functionality, and a basic interface for sending emails. Actual mail sending is provided by separate interchangeable packages.
